To educate community and business leaders by providing experiences that will increase awareness, develop leadership skills and motivate participants to be actively engaged in St. Charles County.
VISION St. Charles County Leadership Program endeavors to provide opportunities ranging from management, leadership, training sessions, panel discussions with community leaders, group interaction, onsite visits, tours and individual participation.
The VISION Program meets once a month for a nine month period – from August through April. Most sessions meet for a full day on the third Thursday of each month. The initial program session begins with an overnight retreat at a local conference facility. Each monthly session takes place at various locations around the county specifically chosen to highlight different elements of our diverse St. Charles County.
Highlights of the program include an overnight trip to Jefferson City (usually in February) to meet with state legislators and officials as we visit our state capitol. We have recently added a day to feature our First Responders and it was a tremendous success.
Participation in the program activities and class projects is mandatory for successful completion of the program. Some additional time may be required when working on class projects.
- Program Day Activities include:
- Civic Leadership
- County Government
- Economic Development
- County Social Services
- State Government
- First Responders

Vision Leadership St. Charles was an amazing experience for me. Not only did I find out about the tremendous amount of top-notch resources in our county, but the relationships and connections that I made have a huge impact on my business as well as my community involvement. I am continually amazed by the opportunities afforded to me through being a part of the program and community. I would recommend Vision Leadership to anyone who would like to get more out of their career and future!

I’m always looking for ways for the people with disabilities served by Community Living to get involved in their communities. Vision Leadership helped me establish an amazing collaboration with the Habitat St. Charles ReStore. The ReStore had just established their 1SDS program and were very excited to use our adults with disabilities as a resource for their new project. Habitat expanded their business model and we got many of our folks with disabilities involved in their community. A match made in heaven!

Participating in the Vision Leadership Program gave me the resources, experience, and connections necessary for stepping into a prominent leadership role. As the mayor of St. Charles, I have led a number of development projects, propositions, and charitable events. In addition, I have had the opportunity to serve on several boards and committees throughout St. Charles County. Through all of these opportunities and accomplishments, I have carried with me the lessons and skills that I gained from the Vision Leadership Program. The program equipped me with invaluable knowledge that I could not have gained anywhere else. I am excited to see what is in store for Vision’s future, and how they will continue to positively impact the community of St. Charles, MO.
